Hello hormones!

During pregnancy you will become an unpredictable creature. One minute you are happy and the next minute you are in tears. Don’t worry, this is common during pregnancy.
Morning sickness and stomach troubles are also part of the deal.
The first hormone that you will notice is human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG). The level of hCG doubles in the first 10 weeks. This happens every two days. hCG will keep estrogen and progestrerone at an appropriate level. The placenta will take over this function once its ready.
The amount of oestrogen and progesterone in your blood is increasing. These increasing hormone levels can determine your mood. These mood swings are most of the time in the first 12 weeks of your pregnancy. In the last stage of your pregnancy it can occur again.
Hormones determine your moodiness so it is out of your control. But there are always ways to easen it for yourself.
- You can ask your partners, friends or family to help you with things. You can’t do everything by yourself
- Secondly it is very important to rest. Take a nap when you can. You can think of taking a vacation and make your maternity leave earlier
- Have fun! Go out with your friends, see a movie or go for a nice walk. Taking your mind off pregnancy stuff is a good idea
- Do some exercise. Take a long walk in the woods or go for a swim. This will clear your mind and makes you feel great afterwards.
What did you do to deal with your hormones?
